Tony Pirani, Esq.
Tony Pirani is the Owner and Managing Attorney of Pirani Law PA, founded in May, 2019, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His primary practice areas are Criminal Defense, Wrongful Death, Trucking Accidents, Personal Injury, Car Wrecks, and Family Law. In the area of criminal defense, he handles everything from simple traffic tickets to the most serious felony crimes, and he is one of only a select group of attorneys in Arkansas certified to serve as lead counsel on death penalty cases. In the civil arena, he primarily represents individuals and families who have been hurt, injured, or killed as a result of someone else’s negligence.
Pirani is a past President, lifetime voting Board Member, and former Legislative Committee Chair of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a two-time recipient of that group's prestigious President’s Award. He has been recognized for outstanding expertise in his field by numerous groups and legal associations, including Lawyers of Distinction, the Expert Network, the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys 10 Best, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and Who’s Who Top Attorneys of North America.
Pirani has testified multiple times before legislative committees regarding various criminal law bills, and he has worked with state legislators from both sides of the political aisle to help draft and improve the criminal code. Arguments advanced by Pirani at trial have also resulted in favorable appellate decisions which have fundamentally changed and helped to reshape Arkansas constitutional law to further advance the twin causes of justice and fairness in criminal jury trials here in our great state.
But who is he outside of the office?
In addition to regular trial and defense practice, Pirani is also a former Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, where for several years he coached the University's traveling trial team for the Texas Young Lawyers Association annual trial competition. He regularly visits and speaks to local schools and other civic groups and organizations, and he still volunteers as a judge for various law student competitions. Pirani has sat on multiple speaker panels as a legal expert in the area of criminal defense, and he has spoken at numerous Continuing Legal Education seminars for other lawyers.
In his off hours, if and when he can find any, that is, Pirani loves to spend time with his loving family, including his wonderful children and many nieces and nephews. An avid hiker, outdoor enthusiast, and intrepid explorer of nature's beautiful and forgotten spaces, Pirani can often be found on a river or a lake with a rod and reel in hand and fish on the line. He also enjoys writing and recording music and maintains an active social media presence.
